There were hostels of this institute in bungalow No.12 & 13 in the fort area of Belgaum. The hostel was boon for poor trainees. This institute has a retained its tradition to train a good teachers right from the beginning. The experienced teachers are always appointed here. A good quality of education is imparted to here. The text of the teachers training has been changed as below.<\/span><\/div>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0The government enforced the similar text for all trainees in 1960-61 and the students passed S.S.L.C. were admitted in the institute for one year trainee.
\n2.\u00a0\u00a0A new syllabus was introduced to enhance the quality of teacher job in 1966 the course being extended to two years.
\n3.\u00a0\u00a0Up to 1943-45 the classes were conducted in R.L.S. building.
\n4.\u00a0\u00a0The institute was working in 5 rooms in the eastern side of G.A. High School from 1945 to 1980.
\n5.\u00a0\u00a0In 1986 a separate building was constructed behind G.A. High School for the T.C.H. College. In 1991 this Institute was renamed as Late Shri. S.S. Basavanal who was one of the 7 founder members. From that time the institute is running under the name of Late Shri S.S. Basavanal Teachers Training Institute instead of K.L.E. T.T.I. College.
\n6.\u00a0\u00a0Afterwards from 1991 the students passed P.U.C. IInd year are being admitted to enhance the quality of training.
\n7.\u00a0\u00a0From 2003 the name of the education has been changed as D.Ed. College according to the new rules from the government. The internship training 3 months is given to the students for better training in various primary schools.
\n8.\u00a0\u00a0In 2008-09 a new grand fully facilitated building has been erected in the place of old building.<\/p>\n

In this way better training is being given to suit the modern tendency of education with several stages from time to time.<\/p>\n

Hostels<\/h2>\n

In 1947 A.D. the first hostel was started for 100 students in Fort area of Belgaum.<\/p>\n

There are two separate libraries for teachers and trainees, there are about 5000 books in both the libraries.<\/p>\n

The Principal\u2019s who rendered services :- the founder of this institute late Shri B.S. Hanchinal was the first Principal who established the institute on strong foundation and it was well known private institute in this area being famous as the first private institute. The next Principal was Shri S.D. Inchal who worked hard for the progress of the institute. Afterwards Shri B.F. Pattanshetti, Shri B.G. Turmari and Shri S.A. Bhoj worked for the development of the Institute for 25 years.<\/p>\n

Later on Smt. S.C. Billur, Shri R.Y. Rayangoudar, Shri G.B. Kolaki, Shri M.S. Nashipudi Shri S.L. Kalasad worked for the development of the Institute. At present Shri I.B. Angadi is working as the principal of the Institute. He is doing his best for the progress of the institution.<\/p>\n

The National awards were given to Late Shri S.D. Inchal and Shri. B.F. Pattanshetti for their best work in this field. We are glad to inform this glorious moment. In this way hundreds of teachers who had undergone this institute have received state and national awards. They have increased the fame of the Institute.<\/p>\n
